Various parts of the body process glucose, but fructose is just managed by the liver, so too much of it can wear it down. High levels of fructose in foods can impact the liver in its filtering processes. High levels of sugar can also build up fat inside of the liver.

Foods that are high in sugar or high-fructose corn syrup should be limited, which unfortunately abound in food products like sodas and many types of sweets.
