The Fit For Golf App has home based programs and gym based programs.
If you wish to follow the home based programs you need to have either:
A) Resistance Bands: Click link for Recommended Bands
OR
B) Adjustable Dumbbells: Click link for Recommended Dumbbells
As long as you have one of these, there is a high quality program for you.
Check out the programs labeled “Home Based” in the app.
If you workout in a gym you don’t need to worry about equipment. There are options for various types of gyms, whether it be a very high quality gym, a smaller country club or apartment complex / workplace style gym, a Planet Fitness with only machines. There are options taking all of these variables into account.
Which program should I start with?
The Fit For Golf App has a Program Matcher Feature. You answer a few questions about your background and preferences, and the app will recommend the most suitable program for you.
There are programs to suit all ages, fitness levels, and standards of golfer.
How long are the workouts?
There are programs that are 5 minutes in duration, and 70 minutes in duration, and a number of options in between. I have prepared programs for those who only have 5 minutes a day, those who have 25-30 mins 3 x week, and those who have a significant amount of time for training, like 60-75 mins 3 x week.
There is something for you!
Do you have golf specific stretching routines?
Yes, there is a Golf Warm-Up and Mobility Routine section on the app.
What should I do on the days in between workouts?
This will be dependent on your goals. Many users are very interested in increasing their swing speed. If this is the case, specific swing speed training on the days between the workouts is a good option.
There is a speed training tracking section in the app that can be utilised while using your own driver.
The Stack System is also a fantastic speed training system, and you can get 10% off with the code FFG24.
The most important thing to have for speed training is a radar that allows you measure your speed and track progress. The PRGR is a great option.
Extra mobility using one of the mobility routines on the app, cardio, other sports you enjoy, or of course actual golf practice or play are also great options.
