Gain 5mph+ Club Head Speed with these 4 Tips

Instantly Gain 5mph+ Club Head Speed 🚀

I love studying & experimenting with the biomechanics & physiology of club head speed 🏋🏻‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

How can we train our bodies & swings for more “easy speed”?

4️⃣ concepts for you to try 👇🏽

If you want to learn more about training for increased swing speed, make sure to check out Swing Speed Training – The Fit For Golf Guide. It covers everything you need to know.

1) It starts with your Set-Up

How would you set up if you were going toss something heavy down the range?

Too narrow – not enough base of support to maximise your potential.

Too wide – will restrict rotation & make correct shifts difficult.

Simple tip.

2) Loosen up, get some whip!

The goal is to move in a way that results in the club head moving through impact faster.

This is a different mindset to “trying harder”.

High swing speeds are not “effortless”, they can just sometimes look that way due to efficient movement.

3) Take your time!

What? I’m trying to go faster!

Yes, but remember it’s not about how fast you try to move your body, it’s about how fast the club head is moving at impact.

Most people will benefit from a bigger wind up.

Allows us to use our current muscle strength more.

4) “Loading” in transition

We’ve covered:
– Set up
– Reducing excess tension
– Winding up in the backswing

Now all you have to do is time your transition.

As @DrKwonGolf says, we want a “patient transition”.

Once you’ve done that, it’s time to hit the gas 🧨

OK – but does it work??

“Swing Feels” are subjective, but these ideas have really helped me.

I’m a professional fitness coach and amateur golfer.

I won’t be taking down Kyle Berkshire anytime soon, but at 5’10, 170lbs, with a normal driver, I can get up to ~190mph ball speed.

You must train your body too!!

How fast you can get, and maintain as you age, will be hugely dependent on your physical strength, power, and flexibility levels.

That’s where the Fit For Golf App comes in. Programs for all.
