Losing distance as you age? Here are 3 flexibility exercises to help turn that around

1. Top Of Backswing Pulses

Get to the top of your backswing, then start doing little reps where you start trying to push the range of motion further.

2. Band Assisted Lead Arm Backswings

The tension on the band helps pull your lead shoulder & arm through much more range of motion than usual. Huge stretch 👌

Bands that anchor in a door frame are a great option for those who don’t have a high support to loop a band around

3. Band Resisted Backswings

The goal here is to make the band stretch as much as you can.

This will force you to create a longer path with your hands in the “backswing”

Can’t make a lazy armsy move against the band tension, have to use your whole body.

One of the reasons for golfers losing distance as they age is the backswing getting shorter.

The science of this is that it reduces Impulse, which is Average Net Force X Time.

With the shorter hand path in the backswing, they have less time to apply force on the downswing.

Players who maintain great distance into their 50’s, 60’s, & beyond tend to have longer swings.
