Mummy Mars Bar Slices
A spooky twist on the classic Mars Bar Slice, these Mummy Mars Bar Slices are a fun and easy no-bake Halloween treat. With a chewy rice crispy base and white chocolate “bandages”, they’re perfect for Halloween parties or baking with the kids.

Last Halloween, I shared a recipe for Monster Rice Krispies Squares, which I’ve been making since my kids were just wee. They’re the perfect easy Halloween treat, so this year I wanted to share another fun idea for Halloween baking that’s just as simple but with a spooky twist.
After a bit of brainstorming, I came up with these Mummy Mars Bar Slices.
Taking inspiration from my much-loved Mars Bar Slice recipe, I’ve used the same tried-and-tested base but given it a fun Halloween makeover. Think of them as a spooky take on a classic Scottish tray bake, perfect for Halloween parties, trick-or-treat nights, or just a wee bit of seasonal baking with the kids.
The base is everything you expect from a good Mars Bar Slice: chewy, crispy and packed with that unmistakable Mars Bar flavour. Simply melt the Mars Bars with butter, then stir through rice crispies to create that iconic sticky base.
Instead of the traditional chocolate topping, I switch things up with white chocolate drizzled across the top to resemble a mummy’s bandages. Add a few edible candy eyes, and suddenly your traybake has transformed into a tray of spooky little mummies.
They’re quick, easy, no-bake Halloween treats, and exactly the kind of fun recipe that’s perfect for getting kids involved in the kitchen.
Alive or not, these Mummy Mars Bar Slices are a Halloween sweet treat the whole family will love.

Top Tips for Mars Bar Slice Mummies:
• Won’t Melt Smooth: The nougat doesn’t melt the same way as the chocolate and caramel, so the mixture will always look a little lumpy. You can break it up slightly with the back of a spoon or spatula, but don’t worry, once the rice crispies are mixed in, everything will combine nicely.
• Use a Low Heat: Too much heat can cause the chocolate to seize or burn. Gentle heat and a bit of patience will give you the best texture for your Mars Bar Slice base.
• Mix Quick: The Mars Bar mixture starts to set as it cools, so it’s best to stir everything together straight away and press it into your tin while it’s still warm.
• Drizzle How You Like: A spoon works perfectly well for creating messy mummy “bandages”, but if you want a neater finish, you can spoon the melted chocolate into a piping bag and drizzle it across the slices.
• No Eyes? No problem: Chocolate chips work just as well for eyes.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
All my recipes are developed using a digital scale and the metric system (grams and millilitres). Cup measurements are available as a conversion but these, unfortunately, won’t always be as accurate. For best results, I always recommend baking with a digital scale.
NOTES:
Storage:
Store your Mummy Mars Bar Slices in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. If your kitchen is particularly warm, you may prefer to keep them in the fridge to prevent the chocolate from softening.Substitutions:
- Rice Crispies: Any puffed rice cereal will work for this recipe, so use whichever brand you have to hand.
- Mars Bar: While readily available in the UK, Mars Bars aren’t available worldwide. If you are in the States, Milky Ways are the equivalent of Mars Bars.
